About

This project is an ongoing exploration of form, texture, and movement through hand-made ceramic climbing holds.
Each hold is shaped individually by hand, using a blend of different clays with varied textures and material behaviors. The form develops through touch, material, and process rather than a fixed design.
The work grows out of years of climbing and travel, drawing inspiration from outdoor climbing areas as well as the London board climbing scene. Time spent on spray walls, in particular, left a lasting impression — spaces where ideas are tested quickly, movement evolves, and creativity grows through use.
Coming from a ceramic background and inspired by makers like Chris Colver, Paul Soldner, Stan Bitters, and Peter Voulkos, the approach stays intuitive and material-led, allowing forms to develop naturally.
Making each hold is both a meditative practice and a form of rapid prototyping. Ideas shift from batch to batch as they are made, tested, and climbed on, remaining intentionally open-ended rather than fixed.
These holds are meant to be used, enjoyed, and lived with. They take on their full character through use and interaction over time.
